Hecla Mining Company is engaged in the discovery, acquisition, development, and production of precious and base metal properties in the United States and internationally. The company mines for silver, gold, lead, and zinc concentrates, as well as carbon material containing silver and gold for sale to custom smelters, metal traders, and third-party processors. It also produces doré containing silver and gold. Hecla Mining owns and operates several mines, including the Greens Creek mine in Alaska, the Lucky Friday mine in Idaho, the Casa Berardi mine in Quebec, Canada, and the San Sebastian mine in Mexico, as well as the Fire Creek, Hollister, and Midas mines in Nevada.
